Welcome to our learning and biosecurity hub where you can find educational resources, practical biosecurity advice, access our webinar series and learn about our volunteer training programme.

Education groups

Although not a major part of our current work, our team are happy to support learning and projects in schools and with students if time allows. Get in touch if you’d like us to visit, give a talk, or organise a practical volunteering day to control invasive species in your local area. We are able to make arrangements for all ages from primary schools through to university groups.

Learn more about alien species

Over the years we have held webinars, taken part in podcasts and held a project conference all about invasive non-native species. We have made these recordings and our conference presentations available to you here.

Volunteer training

We provide volunteers and groups with the skills they need to undertake practical invasive species control. This will develop capacity to manage invasive species in the future – whether undertaken as part of an ongoing Scottish Invasive Species Initiative or delivered locally if the project ended. Currently we work beside, and with, these trained individuals and groups to control target invasive non-native plants.

We support our volunteers to gain pesticide application qualifications and first aid certificates to enable their contributions to invasive plant management work now and in the future. Find our more on our Volunteer Training page.
