Scottish Invasive Species Initiative features on Landward

We were delighted to have Landward visit us on the River North Esk to film a segment about giant hogweed.

The Landward team joined the Scottish Invasive Species Initiative during Invasive Species Week in May, on the River North Esk in Angus, to find out about giant hogweed.

Presenter Rosie joined Cat and Callum to hear all about the problems caused by this invasive non-native plant, how we treat it and to see some of our improved sites. Rosie even donned a spray suit to help Cat with control!

The segment aired on 5 June 2025 and will be available to watch on BBC iPlayer for a year. Thank you to the Landward team for visiting and raising awareness about giant hogweed!

If Rosie’s ventures have inspired you and you’d like to have a go treating giant hogweed, please visit out website to find out more and sign up.
